Christine accepted a serving position with Picazzo’s while attending Cosmetology school for hair styling. She chose that profession to develop a career for herself and it was something she thought she would really enjoy. Upon graduating from school, it didn’t take long in the business to find out she really didn’t like the responsibility of managing women’s hair with them. A year and a half ago, a bartending position opened in Scottsdale and she jumped on that opportunity. She has discovered she loves bartending so much and that she has decided to create a career with Picazzo’s.
Repeat guests actually call ahead to make sure she is bartending before they come in for lunch, healthy hour, or dinner. Christine builds her clientele with her friendly nature and by making the best drinks she can that her guests will enjoy. She really enjoys the creation and art of mixology.
She doesn’t feel she is the “give advice” bartender, but her guests definitely like to come in and talk to her. Christine says her guests say they love atmosphere at Picazzo’s bar and especially her single guests feel comfortable coming in by themselves because of the atmosphere and her service and drinks. She sees people more regularly than every 5-6 weeks for a hair cut or color.
Christine loves to make people happy. Her smile is contagious and her hair is always beautiful.
Her main attraction and escape from life are her animals. She has 1 horse, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise and a lizard. She spends as much time with them as possible. They bring her great joy and solitude.
Her daughter Ashley was 14 when Christine began working with Picazzo’s. Christine said when Ashley was old enough to work, she told her mom she wanted to work at Picazzo’s. Ashley is currently a hostess and has really grown in confidence and strives to be the “best” hostess at Picazzo’s. She prides herself in always doing a great job. She loves to pick up as many shifts as she can.
Their manager, Sean Manning, said ”They are always positive and have such nice smiles. They are equally reliable, long term employees and always come to work happy. They are both great with guests and display great attitudes and dispositions.”
Ashley is currently the number one employee signing guests for Power Card Picazzo’s Reward Point program. Her mom and her now have a friendly competition going to see who can lead the pack.
Ashley wants to be a trauma nurse and eventually attend Grand Canyon University when she graduates from High School. She was inspired to the career by watching Grays Anatomy and wants to be like the nurses on the program. Also, when Ashley was 5-6 years old, her mother, Christine, was being treated for Stage 4 Colon Cancer and spent a lot of time with her in the treatment center watching her mom get stuck with needles and sat by her side for hours. Prior to Colon Cancer, Christine dealt with stage 2 Breast Cancer. Christine is a thriving survivor!
Ashley is very involved in her church youth group and is a lead singer in the Youth Band. She has been asked to be a youth leader when she graduates. She has great friends and enjoys being the lead vocalist her church band. She enjoys having her friends over and jams on their back porch with acoustic guitars. What girls don’t just love dressing up and being silly!
Picazzo’s extended family also includes Mom, Lucy and son, Angel working together in the kitchen in Scottsdale.
